Another trick was oil control. Charlie’s Oil Pans fabricated the pan with a lower sump that was sectioned off to hold 5 quarts of AMSOIL. By using a windage tray, then separating the sump oil from the false floor of the pan, Stine was able to keep the oil from aerating and losing steady oil pressure as well as controlling windage to reduce parasitic horsepower losses.
