Like most 383s, clearance for the rod bolts needs to be checked to make sure they don’t clip the oil pan rail. Fancy mill work makes the job look nice and clean but can easily be done by hand as well. When clearancing an OEM block, keep in mind that where you need to grind isn’t far from a water passage, so care is necessary. View Related Article
