[Back Cut] [Throat ID] [Seat] [Bottom Cut] [Margin] [Seat] [Top Cut] [Valve Face] Adjusting the angles of the valve job, it is important to maintain a proper amount of margin on the valve. After cutting the stock valves to 35 degrees, there was only .045 inch of margin on the intake valve. Cutting those valves to 50 degrees would have left nothing but a razor-sharp edge where the margin should be, so we installed a new set of OEM valves and cut them to the proper 50 degrees. At the corner of the margin where it meets the face of the valve, it is common to see a fairly abrupt corner on the intake valves, however, exhaust valves respond well to a large radius there.
