After removing the 4L70E tailhousing, we have a reluctor on the tailshaft that needs to be removed. We used a thin cutoff wheel to notch it deeply on two sides, then tapped it lightly with a hammer. In its place is this unique SFS reluctor that retains the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), since that is used as the primary feedback sensor to make shift decisions.
