The Hughes lifters come with the top of the lifter body beveled to clear the severely angled pushrods. Even with standard Mopar heads, the LA engines use a 59-degree lifter angle, which tends to cock the pushrods skyward. The triangular jiggity jog in the lifter tie bar is to clear a casting hump common on small-blocks. Robinson had no problem with them dropping in, but test-fitting to make sure they clear the hump before final assembly is highly recommended. View Related Article
