The fittings going to coolant are corrosion-resistant brass alloy, double O-ringed to the manifold. Note the slotted steel inserts at the flange for the manifold fasteners to the cylinder head, which also serve as a compression stop for perfect crush at the sealing rings to the heads. The water fittings are fully serviceable and secured with a circlip at the back. No more fretting about stripped fittings.
