First scrape off the undercoating in the area you plan on welding. We used a 36-grit 3M grinding disc on the frame. Use the same to clean the powdercoating off the subframe connectors where it will be welded. While the car is jacked up, scrape as much of the undercoating off as you can. It's just going to fall off while you do the rest of the undercar work. View Related Article
