Hilborn
What packages do they offer?
Hilborn offers two possible kits; the Carabine kit is for those looking for a simple easy-to-install ECU, which does not require a laptop, or the FAST kit for those wanting digital control.

Easiest kit?
The Carabine kit is pre-flowed at the factory and does not use a MAP or oxygen sensor, making installation simple, plus no laptop is required. Tuning comes via screwdriver twists on the Carabine controller, which gives it a very fast learning curve for carb converts.

Best for racers?
The FAST kit offers the fuel and spark control a racer wants. From transmission control, nitrous control, transbrake control, and data logging, this full-featured system complements the tuning capabilities of a Hilborn injector.

What do you get?
All Hilborn EFI kits include a completely assembled injector manifold, ram tubes, ECU with required wiring and sensors, a Weldon fuel pump and regulator, two filters, remote thermostat housing, and a synchrometer for tuning.

What options are available?
The Carabine kit offers optional sensors such as air temp and barometric pressure. The FAST kit options include internal data logging, extra oxygen capabilities, traction control, EGT sensors, and coil-over-plug applications. For those making big power, Hilborn offers Weldon electric fuel pumps for 2,000-plus horsepower gas engines and Hilborn mechanical pumps for those making even more power or running alcohol. Stack systems for natural aspiration are the most popular, but there are also several hat and scoop models for those who want to run a blower. Polishing, powder coating, and porting are available for the manifold, and a chrome finish option for the ram tubes.

How do I tune it?
The Carabine ECU uses 16 screwdriver potentiometers for tuning, and since it is pre-flowed, it requires very little adjustment. What makes the Carabine unique is the ability for each adjustment point to transition into the next, avoiding the sharp transitions experienced by previous screwdriver tune systems.

The FAST ECU uses Windows-based software. Data-logging capabilities allow data collection while driving for later review and tuning.

How much?
Using Hilborn's most popular application, the small-block Chevy, for example, a complete kit with a Carabine ECU starts at $6,290, while a FAST kit starts at $7,060.

Holley
What packages do they offer?
Holley has developed three brand-new EFI systems: Avenger, HP, and Dominator. Holley also still carries the well-known Commander 950 series.

Easiest kit?
The Avenger system was designed specifically for easy carb conversions and is available in TBI, four-barrel, MPFI, or Stealth Ram configurations. It comes with an LED handheld tuner, so no laptop is required, just answer a few basic questions and the Avenger will start self-tuning.
