As luck would have it, our core motor was equipped with a nodular iron crank, denoted by the "N" cast into the front counterweight. Thanks to the stock-length stroke, the short-block went together without any drama. Only the bottom of the rods had to be massaged, as they were contacting the bottom of the cylinders just slightly.
