A Dart Big M engine block, with a traditional 9.8-inch deck height, is filled with the Scat crank, Scat rods, and Mahle pistons. Matt Ciarfello of Pat Musi Performance installs the piston using a tapered ring. It compresses the rings so the slug can slide right in. A rubber mallet is used to tap the piston into the bore.
