With the lifters removed it is easy to see the addition of the oil restrictors to the lifter bores. For a roller cam application DCI recommends using one of the available lifter bore girdles to keep the "floating" lifter bores from exiting the block. Also, the 55 in the lifter valley marks this as a 455 block. The easy-to-remember coding makes it easy to spot a 350 (50 casting) or a 400 (00 casting) with the last two numbers in the cubic-inch size. View Related Article
