When he began using the "scavenger" pumps, Mike used a -12 line from the pan to the pump. Later, he found that a -16 line would work even better. Eliminating the sharp turns in the block and using a large feed line allowed the standard-volume pump gears to kick out more oil than a normal high-volume pump using the block oil passages.

Eagle rods have proven themselves to be pretty bombproof, and the JE pistons are equally stout. The large chamfer in the Speed Pro bearings allows the crank grinder to leave a large fillet when grinding the 'shaft. Regarding the strength of a properly prepared stock crankshaft, as the slogan goes, Buick, it's all good.
