The first key to our Pontiac performance breakthrough is from Scat. These affordable bombproof 4340 forgings have been tested to well over 1,000 hp, but until now, the crank was only available for a big-block Chevy. Part of the crank's strength lies in the thickness of the material leading to the throw (or crank) pin area. Other brands may grind this area down to lighten the crank, but in turn sacrifice strength there, as that is the most common area for a crank to break. View Related Article
