To make room for the column-shifted automatic, the factory cut an enormous oblong-shaped hole into the Nova's firewall. Since Supernova was fitted with a 4L65E overdrive shifted from atop the trans tunnel, the factory hole was plugged. Moreover, unsightly factory spot welds were plugged and ground flat.
