In a non-electronically controlled transmission like the 700-R4, shift point rpm is adjusted by altering the weights and springs in the governor. The lighter the weights, the later the shift point. Based on the projected output and power curve of the 408 small-block that will power Project Talladega, shifts points were set at approximately 5,500 rpm at WOT. View Related Article
