The stock clutch pack uses steels in between each friction disc. The Raybestos Z-pack 3-4 clutch pack (bottom), on the other hand, features discs that only have friction material on one side. This eliminates the need to run a steel between each friction disc, which reduces heat retention and warping. The greater number of frictions improves the clamping force as well. View Related Article
