They tapped the OEM timing cover, then threaded and epoxied adaptors into it, allowing the use of a small-block Chevy water pump. Throughout the build, like true hot rodders, they took advantage of what parts they had lying around, and created their own solutions to problems instead of just reaching for a checkbook.
