Mopar 318 Magnum Engine Ferrea Valves

Mopar 318 Magnum Engine Ferrea Valves
Iron-Headed Mopar 318 Magnum Engine- LA Confidential
The 318 has LS1-style lightweight Ferrea valves. The COMP beehive springs are set up with 130 pounds of pressure on the seat, and 309 pounds at max lift. The low weight of the valves, retainers, and springs themselves allowed the valvetrain to remain stable with a minimum of spring pressure. The low pressure reduces friction in the engine, and also reduces the chances of a cam lobe going flat. View Related Article
