The MCPV1 will take almost a quart of fluid, and CPP recommends DOT 3 for anything but specialized race applications. Danny Nix of CPP says that DOT 4 and DOT 5 have a higher boiling point, but must be completely flushed from the system yearly because they do not cope with water buildup as well as DOT 3.
