To center the axle, we measured from the frame rail (under the bump stop mount) to the mounting surface of the wheel. Rodney adjusted the axle until the measurement was the same on both sides (12 3/8-inches). He then used 4.75-inch tubular shims for centering the rear (just behind the tape measure), to help set pinion angle and ride height. Once the pinion angle and center have been set, these spacers should be tack welded in place. They will hold the axle in place until the upper control arm mounts are welded to the axle tubes.
