The forged crank is installed at station three. Cranks are not lifted by hand but rather moved by an electric hoist specific for this operation. This not only prevents damaged parts from a dropped crank but also stops injuries to assemblers. The caps are now installed taking care to make sure they are put in right position and that they are facing the right way. This is also where the thrust bearing is set.
