Recently, we surfaced photos of what looked like the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Though at that point, we only had photos, Chrysler has just officially announced the 6.2L supercharged platform – the most powerful HEMI engine Chrysler has ever produced.
“The new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the ultimate performance muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Dodge is the Mainstream Performance brand, and now combined with SRT, we are able to unleash a true GT car with an all-new driver-focused interior and the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission combined with the most powerful V-8 Chrysler has ever produced. The Challenger Hellcat has been released!”
This time, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with 600-plus horepower will be backed by a segment first, Torqueflite eight-speed transmission or track-proven TREMEC TR6060 six-speed manual.
Of course, the new supercharged HEMI is fortified with a forged rotating assembly including a forged-steel crankshaft, induction-hardening bearing surfaces, forged alloy slugs with carbon-coated piston pins and powder-forged rods.
Up top, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will benefit from a set of aluminum cylinder heads and valve covers will be painted in an unmistakable HEMI Orange.

Most notably, unlocking the full potential from the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat requires a special set of keys. For the first time, the all-new Dodge Challenger SRT and Hellcat engines come standard with two key fobs – red and black. The black key fob will only allow a limited amont of engine output. However, the red key fob will allow the driver to unlock the Challenger SRT and Challenger SRT Hellcats full potential.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will roll on a a new, SRT-exclusive “Slingshot” split-seven spoke, which arrive in 20 x 9.5 inches. Wheels are forged-aluminum so they shed weight and are finished in a matte black finish. Optional for the Hellcat are 20 x 9.5-inch lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with finished in Brass Monkey/dark bronze. Wheels will be wrapped in fat, P275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero rubber.
Up front, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will hang the largest front-brake package ever offered in SRT vehicle history. The front brake package will consist of 15.4-inch Brembo two-piece rotors with a massive set of six-piston calipers.
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcats will also receive a high dose of aggressive and functional exterior aerodyniamics to further separate it from the standard SRT. This includes a power-bulge aluminum hood with dual air extractors to scavenge heat aware fomr the engine. Hoods are available in body color or Satin Black finish. Exclusive to the Hellcat will be the Air Catcher inlet port, which allows fresh air to feed the engine directly through the engine air box through the driver-side parking lamp.
“SUPERCHARGED” fender badges on the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will further identify the menacing Hellcat engine under the hood. 2015 Hellcats also get a unique, taller rear spoiler with a redesigned rear valence. tail-lamp design and rear fascia. The tail lamps feature the new signature LED graphic with its smooth glow of light that can be seen from blocks away. A redesigned rear valance helps the 2015 Challenger SRT models look more planted on the ground. A unique, taller rear spoiler on the SRT Hellcat features a raised SRT logo.
Going further, Chrysler has also announced including their most memorable paint colors with each 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in 11 exterior colors: B5 Blue Pearl Coat, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Bright White Clear Coat, Granite Crystal Metallic Pearl Coat, Ivory White Tri-Coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl Coat, Phantom Black Tri-Coat Pearl, Pitch Black Clear Coat, Redline Tri-Coat Pearl, Sublime Metallic Pearl Coat and TorRed Clear Coat.
