Mopar Fans rejoice – what appears to be the upcoming 2015 Dodge Challenger has finally come to the dinner table. With the redesign of the fifth-gen Camaro, 2014 Camaro Z28 and the outstanding performance of the 2014 GT500 Ford Mustang, it would only make sense that Chrysler step-up its game to compete. Recently, we were handed some spy photos of what would appear to be an all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine. A car we’ve been anxiously awaiting, and could arrive as we’ve illustrated.

Noticeably different is the raised hood line, which could now be housing an additional power-adder by way of a massive roots-type supercharger on the HEMI; potentially the 6.4L or 6.2L version. It could help the Challenger go head-to-head with the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and GT500 Ford Mustang. By the look of the photos we’ve received, the all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is packing some serious heat making this much more than an internet rumor.

According to Ralph Gilles, President and SEO of the SRT brand, the company “will soon have an answer” to the competition. With the added boost of the supercharger, the Challenger could make as much as 640 hp, putting it 60hp above the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and a mere 22hp shy of the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra. Depending on each car’s official curb weight, this could put an end to the ponycar wars.

Take close look at the spy photos, we’d like to leave you with a few more nuggets to consider. First, the front cover on the Challenger seems to be hiding something new; is it possibly a new air intake? Maybe one that looks similar to 1970 AAR’Cuda. We also think it could be a twin grille setup similar to the 1971 Challenger. Last, the exhaust looks new. A possible front and rear facelift could be added to the 2015 model year. We’ll be at SEMA November 5-8th, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Chrysler will reveal an all-new 2014 Mopar. Stay tuned as we keep you posted with the newest ponycar updates.
