Roadster Shop Subframe
With ease of adjustability, performance, and reliability as the goal, this complete ’64-70 Mustang subframe incorporates zero-deflection acetyl GP bushings and reverse-mounted large-diameter control arms for easy camber and caster adjustments. Quick-ratio power rack-and-pinion steering, a splined sway bar, and adjustable Afco coilovers round out the front suspension package. Positive and negative jounce bumpers protect the coilovers from excessive motion abuse, while the 7075 T-651 billet steering arms offer added strength, weight reduction, and a lower steering rack position for optimal engine placement.
This complete subframe is designed for the customer wanting more than the factory sub-rails and inner aprons can provide. Ten-gauge steel framerails are designed to weld into the factory torque boxes and then connect to the firewall via forward down bars. This provides the ultimate in strength and eliminates frontend flexing and movement commonly associated with early Mustangs. Eliminating the factory aprons and strut towers also creates much needed additional clearance for engines and headers. The steering rack and crossmember placement has been designed around traditional engines as well as Mod motor and 5.0 Coyote.
Corbeau carbon-fiber seat heaters feature a patented heat flow system that stops the heat from going into the interior of the seat and redirects all that heat toward your body. This allows the heater to warm up within just a few minutes and maintain a constant temperature. Corbeau seat heaters can also be trimmed for a custom fit and will work in almost any vehicle—in your stock seats, or with Corbeau seats. Like many new car seat heaters, they feature a dual-temperature control with a high and low setting. Once installed, the control units will look like they came stock in your classic vehicle. And the best part is that Corbeau seat heaters are only $99 per seat!
Hooker Cast-Iron LS Headers
A set of Hooker LS Cast Iron Exhaust Manifolds is the perfect solution for exhaust in a tight engine bay or where the maintenance-free characteristics of manifolds are desired. They are designed to hug close to the engine block so they fit into a wide variety of replacement and engine-swap applications. Their contoured design aims the exhaust directly at the exit port for improved flow. Being cast iron means they will provide years of leak-free performance with less underhood noise than traditional headers. Plus, their shorty design means you can route exhaust tubing close to your frame and floorpan for maximum ground clearance. The manifolds are available in five finish options including Cast Iron Gray Ceramic, Silver Ceramic, Titanium Ceramic, Black Ceramic, and as-cast.
Wilwood Engineering has just released two new front drag kits for ’70-73 Mustangs that complement their current selection of street brake kits. The PN 140-11930 Front Drag Kit features Dynalite calipers and 11.75-inch drilled steel rotors. Forged billet FDL four-piston calipers mount directly to the spindle with a bolt-on bracket. Forged billet, five-lug hubs with direct-mount steel rotors combine to provide an average weight savings of 30 pounds compared to stock drum or disc brakes. The Wilwood kits include all-new hardware, wheel bearings, seals, and extra-length lug studs. Both kits feature aluminum hub assemblies, Forged Dynalite calipers, aluminum rotor adapter plates, caliper brackets, BP-10 Smart pads, and all of the hardware required to finish the installation. In addition to the ’70-73 Mustangs, FDL kits are available for the popular muscle car spindles and select aftermarket front struts used on four-wheel disc cars weighing up to 2,800 pounds, or rear drum brake-equipped cars weighing up to 2,400 pounds.
