1971 CHEVY EL CAMINO
Mario Schmidt • Rinteln, Germany
Think you've got it hard building your dream car? Try doing it in Germany. From an early age, 37-year-old Mario Schmidt of Rinteln, Germany, was smitten with American muscle. The die was cast, and the course would be difficult, but Mario pulled it off, finding locally a mysterious '71 El Camino (sans dash, A/C, and heater) that had allegedly been used as a drag car in the United States. Using big-box mail order in the States plus eBay, he did all of the work himself, and now pilots his Yank iron-skinny frontrunners and all-with pride down the Autobahn!

1970 DODGE DART SWINGER
Kori Alexander • Red Deer, AB, Canada
If it weren't for Kori Alexander's dad, who would not tolerate his kids driving his beloved '71 GTX, Kori probably wouldn't have this one-of-83 FM3-code Panther Pink Dodge Dart Swinger to his name. Kori bought it as a basket case 22 years ago in order to get in on the Mopar fun, and has been driving it on nice days to cars shows ever since he restored it in 1989. (Yes, you're looking at a 21-year-old restoration with the original Polyglas tires!) The resto experience even gave Kori the skill and confidence he needed to open his own shop, Show And Go Restorations.

1967 FORD MUSTANG
Johnny Mielko Lancaster, NY
Johnny Mielko has owned his '67 Mustang for over 30 years and says that the sheetmetal has remained all original since then. The same can't be said for the solid-roller small-block Cleveland, which made 509 hp on the engine dyno! We didn't get a whole lot of information on the car or the model, but Johnny did say that Gina Kolo is his cousin.

1962 CHEVY BISCAYNE
Larry Martin • Harrisonburg, VA
Larry Martin is 63 years old, meaning that his high school days weren't filled with Camaros, Mustangs, and 'Cudas, but Biscaynes, Impalas, Galaxies, Starliners, and other fullsized cars. One of his fondest memories is watching a '62 Biscayne run E Modified Production at Maple Grove Raceway back in 1963. That car was the one that inspired this modern clone show car seen here. Larry doesn't race it, but he drives it on the street a lot-recapped slicks and all: "I drive the car weekly on the street slicks and all, and will continue until I get a ticket!"
