Summit Top End Kits
Summit's top end kit for pre-'86 small-block Chevys is available in two versions-355 hp/400 lb-ft and 375 hp/400 lb-ft. Both feature a pair of fully assembled Summit Racing Street & Strip aluminum cylinder heads (62cc chambers, 170cc intake/69cc exhaust) matched up to a Summit Racing Street & Strip aluminum dual-plane intake and a Summit Racing hydraulic cam and lifter kit. You also get a timing chain set and cam locking plate, a complete set of Trick Flow gaskets, a Trick Flow pushrod checker, and hardware from Summit Racing and GMPP. Summit took the guesswork out, putting all the parts in one kit, then chopped the price down to size. What's not to like? The kits start at $1,359.95, making them one of the best deals out there for the DIY engine builder.
Classic Industries Grille
Why is it that '67-69 Camaros get all the cool parts, while cars that were made in far greater numbers seem to get relegated to the back of the bus? The '76-78 Chevy Nova is one such car, and Classic Industries is working hard to reverse that discrimination. Classic's low-cost "dental work" is now available for disco Novas in the form of grille PN 466818 ($229.99). Manufactured by OER, this all-new reproduction front grille installs onto the radiator core support of '76-78 Nova models. These grilles are manufactured in plastic, and electroplated with chrome for a beautiful shine, and each grille features the correct black accent edging as original. Produced with the correct shape and contour for third-generation Nova standard models, each grille features all correct mounting points and is carefully designed to install and appear like factory original.
Jim Meyer Racing Products has created a bolt-in IFS for early Mustangs that boasts superior handling, stopping, and steering over stock. With reprogrammed suspension geometry, reduced antidive, and adjustable stance, Meyer's new rear-steer A-arm IFS offers (as standard equipment) a tight power rack-and-pinion steering, 11-inch vented disc brakes, aluminum adjustable coilover shocks, 1-inch antisway bar, tubular A-arms, and removable steering arms.
As a benefit, the Meyer IFS claims a tighter-than-stock turning radius, with the caster and camber weight loaded onto the frame, not the inner fender panel. Additionally, the rear steering bracket sits above front-sump oil pans, and will clear Patriot headers.
Meyer says the IFS installation can be done at home in a weekend with basic handtools and jackstands. There is no cutting, and only eight holes need to be drilled with provided templates.
To most in the hot rod industry, it would've been unthinkable for a company like RideTech-the industry leader in air suspension-to offer a mechanical coilover shock a few years ago, but here we are announcing just that. RideTech has relentlessly expanded its product line over the years, branching out from just air shocks to bolt-on suspension components, cages, and everything chassis related. The most recent move into coilovers is right in line with this, and comes right on the heels of their electronically adjustable RideTech Select shocks released earlier this year.
For RideTech's coilover design, the engineering team started from the ground up with an all-new impact-forged aluminum shock body. This monotube gas-pressure design uses a 43 percent larger piston area versus traditional twin tubes for superior fluid management and outstanding ride quality. The 5/8-inch chrome shaft travels through a dual-seal rod guide for zero oil leakage and long-lasting performance. The RideTech coilover is available in fixed valving, or rebound single-adjustable in all popular lengths. They also feature a 1/2-inch bore, Kevlar-lined spherical bearing mount that eliminates shock noise and deflection normally found with rubber/poly bushing ends. And did we mention, like all RideTech products, it's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous?

Billet Pedal Assembly
If you're building a serious Pro Touring vehicle, you'll appreciate Wilwood's new adjustable reverse-mount pedal assembly, and their new forward-mount pedal assembly; both combine the brake and clutch pedals together in one unit. The reverse-mount pedal assembly positions the master cylinders inside of the firewall, while the forward mount pedal assembly positions the master cylinders outside on the firewall. Both feature an aluminum frame and forged aluminum pedal arms with ladder-style construction. The frame and pedal arms are Platinum-E coated for protection while the pedal pads are a special adjustable lightweight design that allows fine-tuning of pedal location and clearance. Also included with the assembly are mounting studs, hardware, and a clevis and pivot pin balance bar that is designed to provide smooth brake pedal bias. The units provide a 6.25:1 ratio on both the clutch and brake pedal.
ABC Performance knows that it is hard to have a dashboard full of big gauges, a tall stereo with a GPS screen, air-conditioning controls, and all of the other items desired in a Pro Touring car, yet retain the style and classic look of a '66-67 Chevelle. ABC's Pro Touring Dashboard updates the interior and creates a space for everything. It also allows customizing without fabrication skills.
An ABC dashboard can be finished with the exact parts you want in your car, or it can be roughed in for you to finish. ABC converts an original unit to accept modern high-performance gauges including large tachometers and speedos. They remove the upper switch panel and widen the opening for the instrument insert. This makes enough room to mount gauges up to 5 inches in diameter. ABC offers several inserts to mount a variety of gauges. The insert is CNC laser cut for precision and cleanliness.
The rest of the dashboard can be left as is, or the ashtray, original heat/air controls, and glovebox openings can be filled. ABC can supply new switches, air-conditioning vents, and other dashboard components as needed.
B&M has just introduced the ultimate companion to their 800hp 4L80E transmission: the Holeshot and Traveler series torque converters. Built with the same quality as B&M's 4L80E transmissions, B&M now offers the full package for those wanting to run high-powered engines while still retaining some semblance of gas mileage. All B&M 4L80E torque converters are furnace-brazed for strength and feature needle bearings, new turbine hubs, new stator springs, and precision steel alloy pump drive hub. The 3,500-stall unit (PN 70434, $950) also includes an antiballooning plate, making it suitable for higher horsepower racing applications.
We don't give a lot of thought to power steering pumps, and even less thought to how they are mounted. The only exception to that is when you're having problems, like throwing belts, adjusting belt tension, or clearing other accessories or chassis components. The steering specialists at Flaming River have decided that all components of the steering system, no matter how nonglamorous, are equally important, so they designed a pair of power steering pump brackets for small- and big-block Chevys that work great. They also happen to be inexpensive (just $74 each), and they have the no-nonsense functional look that today's hot rodders want. Longitudinal adjustment even allows for use on short and long water pumps.
Lunati Voodoo Cams
The late-model Chrysler Hemi in both 5.7L and 6.1L forms has far surpassed the performance and efficiency of its predecessor, yet its power potential is far from being tapped out. The camshaft experts at Lunati have recognized the reserve airflow capacity of the new Hemi by designing a series of three Voodoo hydraulic roller camshafts for mild, intermediate, and aggressive performance. All three work well with blowers and nitrous; the mild one (PN 61900) provides excellent torque at low speeds through midrange; the intermediate one (PN 61901) is ideal for higher performance engines with upgraded valvesprings; and the most aggressive one (PN 61902) serves a wide range of modified applications, including upgraded intake, blower, or nitrous. Because these new cams subject the valvesprings to increased valve lift and higher velocities, Lunati recommends upgraded Beehive valvesprings and retainers. The springs are available in two different heat treatments while the retainers are available in steel or titanium.

Edelbrock Blower Kits
Earlier this year, we told you about Edelbrock's E-Force supercharger kit for LS3-equipped Corvettes (2008-2010). Those kits are rated at 554 and 599 hp, and not only close the gap between ordinary Vettes and the vaunted Z06, they flat-out hand them a beat down. That was great news for owners of 6.2L LS3-equipped cars, but it did absolutely nothing for guys with the older '05-07 cars. Now Edelbrock has put the finishing touches on their E-Force kits for earlier 6.0L LS2-equipped C6 Corvettes, and even better-they carry the same horsepower ratings (554 hp for PN 1593 and 599 hp for PN 1594) as the 6.2L LS3 kits. Retail pricing on the E-Force kits starts at $6,595.87.
But it gets better. All E-Force kits for C6 Corvettes are 50-state legal (they have pending CARB EO numbers), and come with a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty. Yeah, it sounds crazy, but these kits really are that good. Edelbrock also offers an E-Force supercharger competition kit #1595 (LS2) and #1592 (LS3), which eliminates the injectors, programmer, and engine covers to provide only the core components needed to build up a competition level vehicle. The supercharger drive pulley is also deleted to allow the end user to select from four pulleys ranging in size from 2.75 to 3.875 inches in diameter, depending on the boost level desired.
