Toyo Tires announces the launch of their Proxes line of drag slicks and free rolling tires. The result of an intensive four year research, development and testing program, the new Proxes line of drag tires are competition proven and provide all of the elements to put your car in the winner's circle.
Two new "Free Rolling" tires feature extremely low rolling resistance with a weight as low as 10-lbs. each. The 25.0X4.5-15 and 26.0X4.5-15 sizes are perfect for "door slammers", have a 4.3-inch tread width, and are specially compounded to give low rolling resistance.
Toyo's Proxes Drag Slicks are currently available in three sizes, 32.0X14.5-15, 33.0X16.0-15 and 33.0X17.0-15. These new sizes are ideal for Super Comp, Super Gas, Comp Eliminator and for all other cars that meet those size requirements. The Proxes Drag Slicks are designed to make it easy to dial-in your car with consistent times regardless of the temperature of the track. Wear has also been improved, allowing for more runs before tire replacement. According to Hideki Ueha, Senior Staff Engineer and Product Manager, Racing and High Performance Tires, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation, "We have designed the Proxes Drag Slicks to be very competitive and consistent out of the box. Several new sizes are also in development."
Proving the outstanding performance of the tires, Thomas Bayer won the 2004 Super Comp Association of Southern California Championship, was the 2004 NHRA National Event Winner of the Auto Club Finals in Pomona, California; and was recently crowned 2005 SCEDA Champion while running on Toyo Proxes Drag Slicks.
