After long deliberation and close scrutiny of all the photos sent to us before our deadline, we have chosen the photos sent to us by Wilber Laboy of Las Vegas, NV, who photographed his Pro Street style 1974 Ford Maverick. Wilber, originally a resident of the Chicago area, has owned the Maverick for over 25 years; it was a family project shared with his brothers which has taken on added steam in recent years. The once-green six-cylinder commuter is now a blown 427ci small-block with a 5-speed Lenco wrapped in Mineral Gray silver with Ultra Violet stripes. Wilber chose a beautiful location for his photo shoot, taking the time to create nuanced lighting that went well beyond the average snapshot. If you look closely you can see that he even made his own Popular Hot Rodding license plate to put the crowning touch on his entry!

For his efforts, Wilber will get $800 in credit to spend in the Autometer Custom Shop—that's enough to build a badass set of custom gauges in virtually any color and style! For those who don't know, the Autometer Custom Shop was set up to provide custom gauge services to the average guy at a reasonable price. Getting your own set of custom gauges is simple! Just click on www.ampcustomshop.com, and download Autometer's custom gauge configurator. This will let you select your gauge size, type, color, face, ticking, lighting, crystal type, typeface, typeface color, numerical range, and so forth. It also gives you a running cost total of your dream gauges while allowing you to save or print different gauge creations. One-off custom gauges are no longer off limits to all but the big-buck guys!

To see Wilber's Maverick and all the other entries into the PHR Photo Contest Sponsored by Autometer, check out the January 2014 Readers' Rides issue, on sale at newsstands everywhere the third week of November.
