Since the new tubs protrude farther inboard, the factory rear seat back bracket needs to be re-arched accordingly. Using a set of dividers as a compass helps simplify the process. Set the dividers 2 or 3 inches apart (depending on depth of tubs), place one end parallel to the floor, and use the contour of the factory tub as a guide to determine where to cut the bracket. Remove the bracket from the floor using a cutoff wheel, and once the new arc has been cut, weld the bracket onto the new tub. If future plans call for installing a DSE four-link, do not reattach the bracket.
