To accommodate 11- to 12-inch-wide rear wheels, part of the framerail must be relocated inward several inches. This requires removing a 17-inch-long section of the factory framerail. To establish the front cut line, measure and mark the framerail 12 inches back from the rear leaf spring bushing sleeve. Repeat the same procedure 29 inches back from the bushing to establish the rear cut line, then begin cutting along the lines with a cutoff wheel. Since the bottom cut at the front of the framerail must be made at a 45-degree angle, use the replacement framerail as a template to establish the correct angle.
