For the interior, Leonard Knight wanted something very clean and simple that paid homage to the dash and floating gauges originally found in the ’53 Starliner. Originally the gauge pods hovered above the steering column, but Leonard and Borzilieri mounted the custom Auto Meter gauges in two curved 30-inch tubes mounted to the floor and covered the dash with flat sheetmetal.
