Of all the hot cars in Kregg Reynolds' personal stable, this is the one we would least want to provoke on the street. A healthy .060-over roller-cammed 454 big-block has a heavy-breathing induction complement, including a very necessary 1,150-cfm Dominator. We have a hard time believing the total outlay of just $15,000 for a real '70 SS with a built big-block that's capable of 10s in the quarter-mile, but we hear these stories enough to know that the bargains are out there. Kregg says he bought it off a longtime friend, so there may be some other back-door trading involved. Hey, if Kregg can find that many hotties willing to pose for photos in his small town, maybe he's good at horse trading, too.

The last item on owner Terry Shifflett's tech sheet was that he spent $100,000 to arrive at the finished, current state of his '70 Ford Maverick. Before you pass judgment, just know that Terry's Ford has been totaled twice, and rebuilt too many times to recount. If this were some kind of government project, like the V-22 Osprey, it would be a relative bargain-and safer to boot. But we digress. Terry had the Maverick when he got married a quarter century ago, and it sat in the yard with grass and bushes growing up around it while he put priority on raising a family. "I still never got rid of it," writes Terry. "I can remember my now ex-wife telling me that my car meant more to me than she did. Obviously, it did, and that is why the car is still here."
