A surprisingly stock 8.8-inch rear does a reasonably good job of channeling 2,000 hp to the rear tires. Moser 35-spline gun-drilled axles, a lightweight spool, and billet gears are required upgrades at this power level. Still, ring-and-pinion breakage is a part of life.

Tuning by Job Spetter of Turbo People (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY) ramps the power up over a 3.5-second window as to not overpower the tires.
