The Anniversary Edition 427 crate motor was the primary justification for GM's interest in reworking Project X: Our '57 would basically serve as a rolling jewel box for one of the coolest crate motors to ever hit the open road. Back in our January 2008 dyno test, the 427 made 484 lb-ft of torque at 3,700 rpm and 460 hp at 5,700 rpm. As per usual, the official GMPP spec on the engine is underrated at 430 hp.
