The fourth-gen Camaro was given the highest crash rating due to its excellent occupant protection. The upgraded manufacturing technology at Ste. Therese allowed for Camaro (and Firebird) to offer class-leading safety at a bargain price due to it being a derivative of the previous third-gen model.
