Super Chevy's Bracket 1 class is traditionally filled with NHRA Super Gas cars, many of them like Billy Peach's '67 Chevy II. The B1 bracket allows delay boxes, a device that allows a driver to "leave" off the top bulb, or even a slower competitor's top bulb (in the case of a cross-over delay box). The delay box is wired to the trans brake release circuit, and releases the trans brake--theoretically at least--at the exact moment the tree turns green. The end result is close racing, tight reaction times, and spectacular launches like this. View Related Article
