Thunder Valley in Bristol, Tennessee has always been a favorite destination for drivers on the Fun Ford tour. It's centrally located at a great facility and it always happens at the right time of year. True Street participants received an extra special treat this year as they were able to hit the high banks at the adjacent Nascar track.
Following the 30-mile cruise, the roar of 70-plus Fords filled the air as participants rolled onto the all-concrete surface. With the sound reverberating off of 160,000 empty seats, there were a lot of smiles. There wasn't any racing allowed on the .533 mile concrete oval, no one was spun out, and tempers never flared, but that didn't keep a few drivers from taking the high groove with 36 degrees of banking as they took a couple of laps around the track.
When it was all said and done, there were some memories made that a lot of the other racers and car show participants wished they could have had. It was an experience to remember!
