Gerry Steiner was the first to admit that he lucked his way into the final round (getting in on the "break" rule set up to ensure that the fans see solid racing). However, running all-time best e.t.s and getting into the elite 5-second zone more than once proves that his drive all the way from San Jose, California, was worth the trip.
