BACKGROUND
Right off the bat, we could see the guys from Power Shop brought a serious piece in their 302 Chevrolet. From it's wicked idle, to it's seemless performance in the warm up pulls, we could tell this was going to be a contender. The dials told the tale as the little 302 turned serious output. In the tune up period, the intent was clear these guys were all business. They went to work in a focused manner, tuning & pulling until they were dialed in. Dialed in they were, posting the highest score to date and currently lead the competition.

BACKGROUND
The guys from Dove Performance brought out a 2nd engine, this time one of the smaller F.E.'s based on a factory 352 Ford. The little big block Ford responded favorably to the teams carb tuning gaining power with each move. The engine pulled clean through the rev range with no trace of detonation or valve float. While the numbers weren't enough to put it into contention, this little big block 352, would make a dandy engine in any Ford street machine.

BACKGROUND
You can count on regular competitor, Tim Bartholomew to bring some healthy hardware to bear, and this year is no exception with a fine 350 Chevrolet making the show. Tim tell us the engine is built with virtually all off-the-shelf parts, taking a budget approach for a realistic street combo. The engine exhibited excellent manners, with a relatively smooth idle resulting from a conservative cam selection and dual plane intake. What wasn't conservative was the power output, with a strong and broad torque curve backed up with ample top-end power. The effort was enough to move Tim to second place in the current standings.

BACKGROUND
The crew from Kustom Kemps are return competitors, favoring the AMC brand. This year's engine is a 390 based entry, using a modified iron production cylinder head. A move to change carbs in the tuning period actually hurt output, with no time for a move back. The AMC ran without issue, however the power was short of the leaders.
