The Hemi's piston has more in common with a race motor than that of a truck. Arrows: 1) indicates the thermal barrier/anti-micro weld coating that allows the top ring to be positioned much nearer the crown. 2) A thin 1.5mm ring pack is used instead of the normal 5/64ths ring. 3) This indicates the reservoir groove that helps keep the top ring seated. 4) A plasticated graphite coating is used on the skirt to allow closer fits without selective assembly. 5) The slipper-style piston allows the use of a shorter, stiffer and lighter pin.
