There is no other choice than a solid roller cam for this type of engine because of the large cross-sectional runner--racing-bred intake ports get in the way of the standard pushrod location. To get the pushrods pointing straight up again, the rocker arm is offset .450 inch and the pushrod hole is offset another .180 inch in the lifter. These offsets increase the side thrust, which hydraulic lifters weren't really designed to handle. View Related Article
