On OE Ford 302 blocks, the oil pump mounting position limits the maximum stroke of the engine and, therefore, the maximum displacement of the engine to about 347 ci. A special C version of the Man O' War block alters the oil pump/distributor to the 351 position, allowing for a longer stroke and a maximum 375-inch 302. The pump for our 427 came from Melling.
