A Side Oiler Like We've Never Seen
The front pulley drive is simple but has plenty of little tricks in it. Van Auken found the Australian maker of this combination harmonic balancer/lower pulley, Romac (www2.eis.net.au/~romac), and had the pieces clear powdercoated to prevent them from rusting. He also built the timing pointer from a piece of 1/8-inch sheet aluminum and bolted it to the front cover after coating the bolts with blue Loctite.
