Obviously, the Indy heads are key, and these are based on Indy's 440-1 casting. Designed for use with offset rockers, the heads ship without the traditional pushrod bulge into the intake port from the side. This makes for a much wider intake port, and a much straighter shot at the valve for the intake air/fuel charge. It's apparent how much material got moved around in Nelson's quest to find the proper amount of flow while maintaining terrific velocity. View Related Article
